Charity - Retail Operations Manager

Job Vacancy at Yorkshire Children’s Centre based across Kirklees

We’re looking for someone to lead our “Pass it On” charity shops retail operation. You should have great people skills and know what it takes to provide excellent customer service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retailer who wants to use their retail skills in a fast moving environment and to know that their contribution will make a difference.

All this is in support of the work of our local charity Yorkshire Children’s Centre.

Things you need to know: The post will start early in the new year

We’re looking for an individual who will initially oversee 5 shops across Kirklees together with the development of our online sales offers.

You will be a safe driver with a full UK/EU driving licence.

You will be responsible for the achievement of sales and surplus targets as well as connecting with local businesses and the wider community to promote our services.

The role would suit someone with multi-site management experience or with a large store or charity retail background.

You’ll ideally have excellent entrepreneurial skills and a successful track record. Where else would you get the opportunity to generate your own stock and lead diverse teams of people?

Shop Manager

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and organized Shop Manager to run our Pass in on Shop on Bradford Road, Huddersfield.

The role will involve promoting the highest level of customer service and to manage and support staff, volunteers and placements.

Experience in a similar role an advantage

Salary: £14,500 – £15,500 dependent on experience

Hours: 35 Hours per week (flexible rota)

Days: 5 days out of 7

Base: Pass it On, Bradford Road, Huddersfield

Front of House Assistant

We’re looking to recruit an enthusiastic front of house assistant to help ensure our visitors receive the highest possible standard of hospitality and customer service. This post will include assisting the catering team in preparation and service and our reception team and Centre Manager with admin and reception tasks.

Hours: 18 hours per week

English Tutor

Job Vacancy at Yorkshire Children’s Centre

We are looking to appoint a motivated, flexible, proactive and committed English teacher to join our team at Brian Jackson College. The successful candidate will be an inspirational practitioner with experience delivering GCSE’s and Functional English level 1 and level 2.

Brian Jackson College specialises in working with KS4 students who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) therefore experience of working in a similar setting would be advantageous, although not essential. As part of this role you will be expected to liaise closely with parents and guardians, and work closely with the whole staff team to support students with pastoral issues.

This role requires a firm but fair role model to appropriately deal with the challenging behaviour you will encounter on a daily basis be it 1:1 or group setting.

Base: Brian Jackson College, Heckmondwike

Salary: £21,000 – £22,500 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Mon-thurs 8am – 4.30pm & Fri – 8am -3.30pm (including 10 management days to be agreed by the Headteacher)
