Science Tutor

Brian Jackson College is an ofsted registered ‘GOOD’ independent inclusion school supporting students that have been or are at risk of permanent exclusion. Brian Jackson College specialises in supporting and educating students who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties, therefore an experienced tutor who has worked in a similar setting would be extremely useful although not essential. As part of this role you would be expected to liaise closely with parents and guardians.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, flexible, proactive and committed science tutor with PGCE or working towards to join our team at Brian Jackson College. The successful candidate will be an inspirational practitioner with experience delivering a science qualification at level 1 and level 2.

This role requires a firm but fair role model to appropriately deal with the challenging behaviour you will encounter on a daily basis be it 1:1 or small group setting.

  • 16 hours per week
  • Monday AM & PM, Tuesday AM and Thursday AM
  • Small groups
  • Students vary in ability
  • Level 1 and 2 knowledge
  • ability to track student progress

Requirements:

  • Must have some subject knowledge, PGCE or equivalent, Trainee or NQT tutors considered

Base: Brian Jackson College, Heckmondwike

Salary: £18.995-£20,995 (depending on experience) per annum pro rata

Hours: 16 hour per week

Days: Monday AM & PM
Tuesday AM
Thursday AM

Volunteer Service Manager


We are seeking to recruit a Volunteer Services Manager to manage and develop the volunteering programme for Yorkshire Children’s Centre (YCC) services and enterprises In line with the volunteer policy the role will involve working with the service managers to identify needs and recruit volunteers accordingly.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role managing the provision of training, support and supervision of volunteers and placements and developing Volunteer Network Peer Support Groups.

Closing Date: 24th July 2017 @ 12 noon

Salary: £20,000 per annum pro rata

Hours: 28 hours per week
