Brian Jackson House

Named after our founder, Brian Jackson House is located in a converted railway goods warehouse that was previously being used as an exam room overflow for Huddersfield University. It’s a massive 2500sq metres and located beside the railway interchange in the heart of the town centre. Despite the building’s history, it’s now a fully-functioning Children’s Centre with full disabled access.

We offer a broad range of services for the whole community at Brian Jackson House, from mediation for separating families to travel companions and lunch clubs for the over 50s. Click on the links below to find out more about the facilities and services provided at Brian Jackson House.

Café Jaxx

Offering fresh food at fair prices, our community Café is run by a team of volunteers, with all proceeds going back to support our primary goal. Inside Café Jaxx you’ll find a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks and light meals. We can also provide a variety of buffets and refreshments to be brought to rooms booked with us.

Open Monday to Friday 9.30am–2.30pm

We are always looking for volunteers to help out at Brian Jackson House – whether it be in Café Jaxx – as a catering assistant (preparing food, cleaning tables serving customers and operating the till); helping our reception teams with administration (answering the phone, taking messages, welcoming visitors and taking room bookings). Are you are looking to gain experience for employment – did you know many of our paid staff are former volunteers?

To find out more about volunteering with us, have a chat to our Volunteer Coordinator on 01484 519988.
