Safety in the home service

Yorkshire Children’s Centre are proud to offer this service as part of the Thriving Kirklees Partnership.

What the Service is

If you live in Kirklees and have a child under 2 years old you could be entitled to FREE home safety equipment supplied and fitted in your property, as well as been provided with home safety information and advice.

The safety equipment we supply includes:

  • 2 Safety Gates
  • 1 Fire Guard
  • 1 Bath Mat
  • Cupboard Locks
  • Corner Cushions
  • Blind Cord Winders
  • Window Restrictors
  • Reduce the risk book


Yorkshire Children’s Centre are also working in partnership with West Yorkshire Fire And Rescue Service to ensure each family referred in to the service also receive a Free Fire Safety Check, which can result in new smoke alarms being fitted if necessary.
