Vacancy: College Outreach Key Worker
Hours of Work: 8.30am – 4pm Monday – Thursday, Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm
Salary: £21,338.52 Gross PA (term time only)

Purpose of the Job
- To provide support and have responsibility for the learning, emotional development, and welfare of disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils (EHCP)
- To provide practical 1;1 group support for learning, educational activities, developing social skills, integration and for securing pupils physical and emotional well-being.
- To provide offsite learning including home visits and 1;1 lesson delivery.
- To support re engagement and re integration of chronic non-attenders.
- Update and review education, health care plans (EHCP)
- Monitoring pupil targets as set out in the EHCP and take responsibility for their achievement with support from the SENCO
- To deliver personalised learning to support the re-inclusion of all pupils.
- To ensure that evidence of pupils learning and development is appropriate for internal and external moderation and that young people gain qualification and accreditation.
- Coach, support and mentor other team members in the best approaches when working with individual pupils.
- Work closely with pupils families to ensure they are informed and included in decision making
- Develop activity plans (where relevant) or source activities on the pupils/families behalf.
- Liaise with outside agencies regarding pupil progress, such as (but not limited to )CAMHs, Northorpe hall, educational psychologist etc.
- To prepare pupils, emotionally, socially and academically for a successful transition at the end of the period of involvement.
- To participate in relevant professional development opportunities.
- To act as lead on any agency meetings relating to key worker child.
- To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the head teacher and Deputy Heads.
Safeguarding duties and responsibilities:
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The following duties are expected of all staff:
- Proactively ensuring the effective implementation of child protection and other related policies.
- Ensuring full compliance with all relevant statutory regulations as well as all school policies health and safety regulations etc.
- Communicating effectively with all relevant stakeholders including colleagues, pupils, parents, and outside agencies as appropriate.
In addition, the outreach key worker will:
- Ensure factual and accurate recording of safeguarding is stored securely using Cpoms.
- Update and review EHCP’s
- Keep up to date with safeguarding, keeping children safe, PREVENT and other relevant policies within education.
Who we are looking for
Knowledge, training and experience requirements:
- A relevant professional qualification or working towards one in: education, teaching, counselling, youth work or another appropriate field.
- Experience of working with young people ages 13-16 in an education (formal or non formal) setting.
- Proven experience of facilitating educational activities, 1-1 or group setting, leading to achievement by children and young people who experienced additional learning needs and/or SEMH.
- Experience of facilitating teaching and learning which leads to qualifications and accredited outcomes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding within a school.
- Working with young people experiencing SEMH.
- Training in behaviour management.

All successful candidates will need to have an enhanced DBS check and show their right to work in the UK before starting work.
